AAA Games Announced in Gamescom 2020
Gamescom is normally the last resort for gamers to find what new games are releasing, but this year the list wasn’t too bad. COVID-19 forced the event to go virtual but, as always, there was plenty to show at the German conference.
CoD Black Ops Cold War
This installment of the Call of Duty series features nonlinear decision-making, which affects the completion of the game. Depending on the choices you make, the game will have many endings. It is expected to be released on 13 November.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
Blizzard presented Shadowlands Afterlives Bastion, a stilled animated feature that explained a little more about the history and the lore of the Shadowlands that came to us in late October. On 27 October of this year, the next expansion into the most popular MMO will go live.
Star Wars: Squadrons
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order had brought us a big surprise last year and gave us hope on EA for actually making a good game. Right now, another studio is bringing a fresh Star Wars game – Star Wars Squadrons – a Canadian development studio, partially responsible for Star Wars Battlefront II. In this game you can find your way in the classic Star Wars starship like the TIE ships and the New Republic Wing Series, the game comes with an extraordinary campaign and competitive multiplayer modes inspired by the EA’s Battlefield and Battlefront series.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
The game has a planned release at the end of 2020, even considering the pandemic the developers haven’t changed the release date. With the setting of WWII, Medal of Honor Above and Beyond will offer an action-packed Virtual Reality (VR), shooter. The game is an exclusive title for Oculus and should launch in Rift, but not in Quest.
Spellbreak
. And the powers in Spellbreak really are lots of fun. In this BR the player is a mage with various magical powers rather than guns like PUBG, you can use the magical powers in interesting and creative ways to defeat your enemies.
Destiny 2 Beyond Light Expansion
Destiny 2 Beyond light, Bungie’s space shooter is potentially the largest expansion yet. In addition to the regular additions of new guns, weapons, and quests, there are also items that will shake up the core of the franchise that has existed since 2014.
With the transition to next-gen, players are left wondering how they are going to play in the next-gen platforms. Progress will go on with Destiny 2 versions of PS5 and Xbox Series X, so when starting with the consoles you won’t be at disadvantage. Neither will you be forced to pay for these new versions. The next-generation update will be available free of charge for all Destiny 2 Xbox One players on Xbox Series X.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
Fan of the original Ratchet and Clank game are obviously well aware of the redesigned game of 2016, but it didn’t bring anything new to the table, and it been a long time since we had to see a brand new one. But during Sony’s Play PlayStation 5 event, Insomniac Games announced a brand-new Ratchet and Clank game, it is going to be released to the new console with next-gen graphics and 4k support.
