Best Remastered Games of 2020

With a start of a new decade, we just can’t help but look back on all the great games that have already passed, thankfully some of them are coming back here are the upcoming remakes and remasters for 2020

1. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX

Free from the limits of the Gameboy Advance and the DS, Rescue Team DX takes on a unique art design to retell us the lore of our Pokemon. The world feels almost like a storybook brought to life. It dazzles with its vibrant colors and cute animations. Even though it’s so much different from the original, it still manages to feel right for the title. It will have 16 starter Pokemons for you to choose from, and they will have additional features like mega evolution.

2. DOOM 64

Doom 64 of ID Software revealed by Pete Hines from Bethesda Softworks is about to hit the Next Generation consoles.  Marking the 25th anniversary of the game, yes 25 years! Feel old yet?  It is essentially the original version of the game with better texture and resolution, which veterans are happy to play again, with 30 plus action-packed missions. It will also be an opportunity to experience it on the go on the Switch.

3. Resident Evil 3

CAPCOM has hit the marks and no doubt that they are going to have the same care and attention to detail as Resident Evil 2. The Developer was nice enough to tease that the game will be more of an action game rather than a horror survival, so expect to run away from enemies a lot because this time they are coming for you.

4. Final Fantasy VII Remake

A list of remakes won’t be complete without the most hotly awaited title this year. With today’s tech, the old Final Fantasy 7 will be resurrected to the new-gen consoles for a new immersive experience, all thanks to Square Enix. Gone are the polygons and the text dialogs, and replacing it is today’s full realism, complete with voice-overs and updated active time battle system. And we all know the huge length of the OG game, so there is absolutely no doubt that this is going to be an episodic game with the first section covering the missions in Midgar.

5. Trials of Mana

Fans of the Seiken Densetsu series, of the Western part of the world no reasons to be happy here, this game was never released to the west. But it was a cult hit in Asian countries and players in Asia are very excited to relive the moments in the new-gen consoles, making its debut on the PC, PS4, and Switch the game’s first official English arrival. It’ll be fully rebuilt into 3D and will come with a handful of improvements, especially to its once tedious battle system.

6. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn

The Metal Max series is also in for a massive reboot.  We’re talking here about the ground-up remaster of the OG Metal Max Xeno released in 2018, with several different projects to this day, that is a brand new title in the West. That doesn’t really sound like much, but it comes with a whole engine change, as well as some improvements to their game systems. For a game that was enjoyable but a little on the average, these enhancements may just make it a better experience overall.
